You need to ensure your drivers are safe, your assets are secure and your fleet is on track. OnStar® has specially trained Advisors standing by 24/7 to help your drivers in the event of a crash, a vehicle theft or even a medical emergency.

EMERGENCY SERVICES

With Emergency Services, if a driver has a medical emergency on the road, pushing the red Emergency button connects them to an OnStar® Emergency-Certified Advisor who can provide crucial medical assistance until First Responders arrive.  

AUTOMATIC CRASH RESPONSE

Automatic Crash Response can use built-in sensors to automatically alert an OnStar Emergency-Certified Advisor of an accident. The Advisor can use GPS technology to locate the driver’s vehicle and send for help — even when the driver can’t ask for it.

STOLEN VEHICLE ASSISTANCE

With Stolen Vehicle Assistance, once law enforcement confirms one of your vehicles has been stolen, OnStar Advisors are ready to help authorities recover it quicker and safer.
Remote Ignition Block™: A remote signal that blocks the engine from restarting once it’s turned off.
Stolen Vehicle Slowdown®: After police confirm conditions are appropriate, OnStar can send a signal to gradually slow the vehicle’s speed to help the authorities apprehend the thief and recover the vehicle.

TURN-BY-TURN NAVIGATION

When a route gets blocked or traffic unexpectedly backs up, drivers can keep their eyes on the road and have directions downloaded right to the vehicle by using Turn-by-Turn Navigation. Advisors can also send destinations to the vehicle’s in-dash navigation system (if equipped).

ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE

When drivers need a tow, have a flat tire or run into other problems on the road, Roadside Assistance is available at the push of a button to connect with an Advisor who can help get things moving again.

DRIVER REMOTE ACCESS

Provides your business with streamlined diagnostic insights, directions and the ability to use the vehicle mobile app as a key fob on their smart phone.

REMOTE COMMANDS

Remote Commands puts the power of the key fob on your smartphone. Drivers can remotely start and stop the engine, control the locks, and activate the horn and lights using the vehicle mobile app if properly equipped.

DIRECTIONS ON THE GO

Directions On The Go sends directions to your in-vehicle navigation system from the mobile app of properly equipped vehicles.

DRIVER PERFORMANCE INSIGHTS

Provides owners and managers with driver information and real-time alerts. Facets of driver data are collected and organized from sudden acceleration and hard braking, speed violations, how long vehicles remain in locations and notifications when it crosses a customizable boundary that can be as small as a parking lot or as large as a country.

TRIP SUMMARIES

Record and reference trip histories across your fleet and find efficiencies in your routing. Consider more than traffic and keep track of how your fleet moves over time.

VEHICLE LOCATION AND DIAGNOSTICS

Vehicle Location And Diagnostics lets you see your fleet move in real-time and get alerts on things like oil life, fuel efficiency and preventative maintenance schedules to avoid costly downtime.

API & DATA SERVICE

There is no one-size-fits-all solution for your business. That’s why we offer an extensive range of API services that can be integrated into the applications of a wide variety of telematic service providers and fleet management companies.

ADVANCED AUTOMATIC CRASH NOTIFICATION (AACN)

Advanced Automatic Crash Notification (AACN) provides insightful crash-related data from the vehicle, such as were there multiple points of impact; were the air bags deployed or seat belt pretensioners engaged; what was the maximum delta-v, vehicle direction upon impact and vehicle location; if the front passenger seat was occupied; and the time stamp from when the incident occurred.

DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) NOTIFICATION

Receive diagnostic trouble code information for high-severity DTCs, including information such as description and recommended corrective action.

SERVICE FIELD RECALL NOTIFICATION

Provides information regarding an open service recall on the vehicle, including the NHTSA recall number, manufacturer recall number, recall description and safety risk description.

HARD BRAKING, HARD ACCELERATION AND DRIVER SEAT BELT

Reports hard braking, hard acceleration and driver seat belt information from the vehicle. The hard braking and hard acceleration events are triggered when the vehicle exceeds a predefined deceleration or acceleration threshold. Driver seat belt status is reported at ignition ON, at ignition OFF and anytime the driver seat belt status changes during the drive cycle (trip).

IN-VEHICLE COACHING

In-Vehicle Coaching gives fleet managers and drivers information regarding specific driving behavior(s) to help create awareness and encourage safe driving habits. Driving behaviors included in this service are: driver safety belt status, hard braking, hard acceleration, posted speed and maximum speed.

PRE-DELIVERY

Pre-delivery provides insight into the vehicle’s location, as well as its odometer, tire pressure, fuel level and battery charge — at every ignition OFF from the time the vehicle has been shipped until the vehicle is reported sold.

TELEMETRY

Telemetry provides vehicle information, such as vehicle location, speed, ignition status, change in fuel level, tire pressure, oil life and DEF level, at regular intervals.

TRANSACTIONAL API CALLS

A single discrete request from the user to perform specific remote vehicle commands, such as lock and unlock door(s), honk horn and flash lights, and remote start and stop. Also, the user can retrieve certain vehicle information, such as vehicle location, diagnostics and electric vehicle-charge information.

REMOTE VEHICLE ENABLE AND REMOTE VEHICLE DISABLE

An API that allows the user to remotely enable or disable the vehicle’s engine (subject to limitations).

WI-FI CONTROL

Provides the ability to remotely enable or disable the Wi-Fi® Hotspot as well as view and modify the SSID and password.
