Air Bags: Dual-stage frontal, driver and right-front passenger with Passenger Sensing System (right-front passenger air bag status on overhead console) (click here for important details)

Air bags help protect the driver and right-front passenger in certain collisions by supplementing the protection provided by safety belts. Dual-stage frontal air bags utilize sensors to help detect the severity of impact and where the seats are. In less severe crashes or when the seats are in the full-forward position, the air bags will deploy at less than full level. The Passenger Sensing System automatically switches the right-front passenger frontal air bag on or off based on the passenger's weight and the type of pressure on the seat. Even with this innovative feature, you should always wear your safety belt and be sure children are properly restrained in the rear seat.

Always use safety belts and the correct child restraints for your child's age and size. Even in vehicles equipped with air bags and the Passenger Sensing System, children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat. Never place a rare-facing infant restraint in the front seat of any vehicle equipped with an active frontal air bag. See the vehicle's Owner's Manual and child safety seat instructions for more safety information.

Air Bags: Air bags: head-curtain, side-impact, for outboard seating positions of all three rows; with rollover sensor (click here for important details)

Head curtain side air bags are designed to help reduce the risk of head and neck injuries to front and rear seat occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. Always use safety belts and the correct child restraints for your child's age and size, even in vehicles equipped with air bags. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat. See the vehicle's Owner's Manual and child safety seat instructions for more safety information.

Brakes: 4-wheel antilock, 4-wheel disc with hydro boost (standard on 3/4-ton models)

The antilock brake system (ABS) is designed to help drivers maintain steering control by reducing wheel lockup during hard braking on most slippery or dry surfaces.

Brakes: 4-wheel antilock, 4-wheel disc with VAC power (standard on 1/2-ton models)

The antilock brake system (ABS) is designed to help drivers maintain steering control by reducing wheel lockup during hard braking on most slippery or dry surfaces.

StabiliTrak: Stability control system with Proactive Roll avoidance

With the StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, sensors read many inputs and monitor driving and vehicle conditions. When sensors detect the vehicle is not responding appropriately to driver steering input, StabiliTrak engages the brake and powertrain systems to help the driver keep the vehicle on track.
