Dual-stage fromtal air bags are designed to help protect driver and right-front passenger by supplementing safety belts.
Front-seat side-impact air bags help reduce the risk of certain injuries to front-seat occupants in side impacts. Always use safety belts and the correct child restraint for your child's age and size. Even in vehicles equipped with Passenger Sensing System, children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate infant, child or booster seat. Never place a rear-facing infant restraint in the front seat of any vehicle equipped with an active frontal air bag. See the vehicle Owner's Manual and child safety seat instructions for more information.
The antilock braking safety system is designed to help drivers maintain steering control by reducing wheel lockup during hard braking on most slippery or dry surfaces.
As an added security feature, the 2008 Chevy Impala includes the PASS-Key III Plus theft-deterrent system. This feature includes a special ignition key with up to 3 trillion possible code variations. If any attempt is made to start your vehicle without the properly coded key, the starter and fuel injectors are disabled.
