Differential: heavy-duty, automatic, locking rear (standard on LTZ models) (Click here for important details)
  • When rear-wheel slippage is detected at lower speeds, the available GM segment-exclusive, automatic locking rear differential allows additional traction at lower speeds on snow, mud, and ice. If one of the rear wheels has traction while the other does not, the locking rear axle automatically sends power to the wheel with grip to move the vehicle.
  • Locking rear differential benefits include enhanced performance for on- and off-road driving and towing, full lockup for maximum drive power to both rear wheels, fully automatic engagement and speed-sensitive actuation, which provides axle lockup when one wheel spins faster than the other.
  • Based on 2007 GM Large Pickup segment.
Engine: Vortec 4.3L V6 with 195 hp and 260 lb.-ft. of torque (standard and requires 2WD/4x4 Regular Cab Standard and Long Box WT and 2WD Extended Cab Standard Box and Short Box WT models)
  • This Vortec 4.3L V6 engine generates 195 hp at 4600 rpm and 260 lb.-ft. of torque at 2800 rpm.
  • 2WD models equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission have EPA estimated MPG of 15mpg city/20 highway.

  • In situations where extra power is not needed, such as cruising down the highway on level roads, Active Fuel Management deactivates four of the eight cylinders with seamless precision.
  • 2WD models equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission have EPA estimated MPG of 15 mpg city/20 highway.
  • 4x4 models equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission have EPA estimated MPG of 14 mpg city/19 highway.

Transmission: four-speed automatic, electronically controlled with overdrive and Tow/Haul mode.
  • The Tow/Haul Mode enhances performance while pulling a trailer or hauling heavy loads. When activated, this feature modifies the transmission shift schedule and helps reduce throttle pedal activity by the driver while traveling over rolling terrain.
