State and Local Government Sales

The GM Bid Center provides support to GM dealers interested in "bidding" to supply vehicles to qualified government organizations or agencies.

If you are responsible for the procurement of vehicles for a Political Subdivision, GM dealers can work with you to meet all your vehicle needs. Organizations eligible for GM bid assistance include:

  • State, County or Local Government offices
  • School Districts or Sheriff's Departments
  • Government-owned or operated Public Utilities and government owned or operated Railroads

If you are not sure whether you qualify to acquire vehicles under these programs, please contact your local GM dealer.

The process is simple:

  • Create your RFP/RFQ or Bid Specification within your organization's existing guidelines.
  • Publish the RFP/RFQ/BID to local General Motors dealers to obtain competitive pricing for vehicles that will meet your needs.

GM dealers sell and service virtually every type of vehicle to meet your needs: cars (including Police cars) pickups, vans, sport utility vehicles, and medium duty trucks. Many trucks and vans can be upfit or modified for specific applications**, such as:

  • Police
  • Fire/Rescue
  • Ambulance/Advanced Life Support
  • School buses
  • Shuttle buses
  • General service
  • Facility/grounds support/maintenance
  • Snow removal
  • Forestry

If you are looking for specialized sales and servicing for Light or Medium Duty Commercial Trucks, contact a Business Central Dealer (BCD) or Medium Duty dealer in your area. For all your other vehicle needs, please contact your local General Motors dealer for details and pricing.

General Motors also offers a Municipal Lease/Purchase Plan through GMAC that is tailored specifically for government customers. This plan offers retail financing for eligible municipalities or political subdivisions to finance essential-use vehicles at favorable tax-exempt interest rates. To learn more about the Municipal Lease/Purchase Plan, contact the GMAC Commercial Services Group at 1-800-471-4622 or visit www.gmacfs.com/csg and click on "Municipal Lease Purchase-Plan".
