6 air bags

To help protect you and your passengers in the event of a collision, your Acadia has an array of air bags1 that help absorb energy and reduce the risk of injury, depending on the type of crash:

  • Frontal air bags for the driver and front seat passenger, in the case of head-on or near head-on collisions; these dual-stage air bags vary their deployment force and pressure, depending on crash severity, to reduce the risk of air bag-related injury
  • Side-impact air bags for the driver and front passenger, which deploy from the side of the seat near the door
  • Head curtain air bags for outboard positions in all rows, which deploy from the roof rail along the top of the windows, in case of rollover or certain other impacts

1 Always use safety belts and child restraints. Children are safer when properly secured in a rear seat in the appropriate child restraint. See the Owner's Manual for more information.
